Leah Jacobson is the founder of LJ Public Relations, the branding, media relations and creative marketing consultancy in Brentwood, CA. After ten years of working in public relations and brand development across the luxury fashion, beauty, tech and design space, Leah started her own firm. Her experience across many verticals working with creative visionaries allows her to approach each project with a sensitivity to design and creativity while balancing driving business goals. She customizes each new partnership, to ensure a shared vision and integrated message.
Before moving to Los Angeles and founding her own firm, Leah worked in New York leading the public relations teams at fashion giants Michael Kors and Elie Tahari. Prior to that, she worked at retail consulting firm Marvin Traub Associates. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with degrees in Philosophy and Human and Organizational Development. She lives in Brentwood with her long-haired miniature dachshund, Eddie.
Dara Smith has been managing communications for fashion and lifestyle brands for more than eight years, both for major luxury fashion houses, such as Burberry and Yves Saint Laurent, as well as for contemporary brands including Erin Fetherston and Fallon Jewelry.
Throughout her tenure at Seventh House PR, Dara established valuable relationships with media, celebrity stylists, and influencers before then moving on to act as brand manager for in-house luxury jewelry brand Erickson Beamon. At Erickson she was responsible for press and celebrity placements, social media, and brand presentation in addition to production of runway shows, presentations, and brand launch events for a myriad of brands.
Meredith de Blois has over a decade of experience in public relations and events spanning New York and Los Angeles. As the first employee of Haan Projects, a boutique firm focused on luxury fashion, Meredith covered all aspects of brand relations, raising the profile and fostering the success of brands such as Thakoon, Edie Parker, Agent Provocateur, Creatures of The Wind and Roland Mouret. Meredith then moved to Los Angeles to broaden her focus, working alongside LJPR’s founder to anchor the LA team and lead West Coast client and event initiatives.
Julia Ruttner has over ten years of agency and in-house experience building brands and managing communications in the fashion and consumer lifestyle categories, specializing in public relations and creative strategy.
As a Vice President at HL Group, Julia was instrumental in the planning, development and implementation of strategic communication and marketing initiatives for clients including TOMS, Marchesa, A.L.C. and Nili Lotan among others. Her expertise spans media relations, editorial and product placement, partnership facilitation, press material and asset creation, social media and digital engagement, and event planning and execution.
Prior to HL Group, Julia was the US Brand Manager for Agent Provocateur where she oversaw all aspects of the brand’s PR, executive positioning and events, she previously worked at PR Consulting with prestigious fashion, beauty and hospitality brands in the luxury sector.
